For those of you in SL or who are studying virtual worlds and education, there are many things going on in SL beginning this month.

The schedule for the new Real Life Librarians in SL speaker series for the first 3 months is:

Biblio Latte, military librarian - 1/20/09 @ 6 PM SLT
Honoria Paine, academic technical services and library systems librarian, working full time in SL 2/17/09 @ 6 PM SLT
Pipsqueak Fiddlesticks, community college librarian - 3/17/09 @ 6 PM SLT

We would love to get the word out to all LIS students, thanks!

Other librarians wishing to speak at these sessions should contact Abbey Zenith (in SL). They are taking place on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, but we can accommodate other schedules occasionally. Thanks!

I am Veronica Piers in SL. You can also ask me questions here.

Another thing going on in Second Life is March 27 to 29 the 2009 Virtual Worlds Best Practices Conference. They are currently looking for volunteers to help with the virtual conference in SL and to present papers. see this link for more information: http://www.slpbe.org/
