PowerPoint Presentations: Check out these great tips when preparing your PowerPoint slides.

Online Trainings
Following InfoPeople's example,
  1. "The training should contain a mix of lecture-demonstration and exercises. A good guideline is that the 35% of the time should be you presenting material and 65% of the time students should be participating through exercises or group discussion. Try not to lecture for more than 15-20 minutes at a time."
  2. Your one-hour PowerPoint "presentation should be anywhere from 20-60 slides, depending on the topic."
  3. "Training participants should leave the workshop with something tangible."

Other things to keep in mind: (Some tips taken from Ten Tips for a Killer Presentation)
  • Be yourself, show your personality
  • Talk to your audience, not at them
  • Be honest. Presentations don't have to be perfect. Allow yourself to make mistakes and be prepared to learn from them for your next presentation.

Engage your audience
Keep your audience interacting with you and others.
You can have participants:
  • answer questions in the chat area
  • answer poll questions
  • draw/write on the whiteboard
  • use the laser pointer tool to point to parts of a slide or image
Give participants time to use the tool you are describing and thendiscuss their experience. Let them DO, not just listen and watch.
